So much has happened over the summer, and I am just finding time to write a new post.
We have a growing schedule and a price list we will email to any interested parties, and we of course do "custom plantings" for anything we don't have listed on our sheet, as long as we can find the seeds or cuttings for whatever it is that people want. I will post our new price list here and we are working on an online catalog. We do not have a large garden area, so are working with other people who grow around the lake in an effort to be able to provide produce year-round and supply all your needs!
We are considering becoming a Distributor for the many people and groups growing organic vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, and those who make natural products around the lake.
There are so many fine cooperatives doing this, from aloe shampoo to natural home made soaps to natural dyes for fabric and threads. The problem has been marketing and distribution, as far as I can see. Products have to be delivered by launcha (boat) across Lake Atitlan or by bus or camionneta in the case of things coming from San Lucas Toliman, which has no direct boat service. If we set up a regular weekly delivery service from all around the lake, perhaps we could pay a boatman to make pickups once a week and get everything to Pana or elsewhere, wherever the customer wants it.
I've seen many fine products displayed at various ferias and festivals, but I've never seen one store that promotes all of them all of the time. While we don't have a storefront yet, we do have a distribution sales sheet and can easily include your products too!
Anyone who has something organic or natural to sell contact me at info@PanajachelOrganics.com or call 7762-1004 to set up a time we can meet at your place or at ours here in Panajachel.
Looking forward to it!
Sincerely, Catherine Todd, PanajachelOrganics.com (English) or Cristian, our manager (Spanish)
